A Teddy Bear Tea Time with Bubble Fun

Where did summer go?  As summer’s last hurrah, I organized a last minute, mommy and me meetup and decided to theme it around a teddy bear tea time.  Each child was asked to bring in a favorite teddy bear and join us at our place for a posh play date filled with tea sets, bears and bubbles!  Thanks to Gazillion Bubbles, we were able to wow our guests with the most fun bubble makers the kids had ever seen.

We started the play date outdoors by setting up a picnic area for Juliet, her friends, and their teddy bears.  A play tea set and felted desserts took center stage while the little ones playfully challenged one another to blow bigger and bigger bubbles.

This was possible thanks to the incredibubble wands, giant palm jugglers, giant bubble mill and giant power wand supplied to us by Funrise and Gazillion Bubbles.  They made bubble making (and bursting) a breeze even for these 4 year olds!  Even us jaded moms (and teddy bears) were seriously impressed.

After all that excitement, we went in for a little snack and toddler tea time with our teddies.

Snacks consisted of cranBEARy trail mix (with teddy grahams, pretzels, popcorn and rice cakes), mixed BEARies, mini cupcakes that Juliet made topped with Teddy graham cracker heads, and Nabisco teddy bear treats along with a selection of hot or cold teas and water.

The moms enjoyed our own version of bubbly.  And each of our champagne glasses were filled with a special treat.

Decor consisted of recycled, re-purposed Oh Joy for Target decor, wrapping paper and Target dollar bin fans that I featured at my ice cream socials this past summer and other parties.

For the activity, Juliet led storytime by singing “Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See.”

I was so proud of my little hostess with the mostest!

Not only did she do a perfect job reciting the book from memory (1 of 5 books she has memorized word for word), but she was an absolute sweetheart sharing all her toys, helping get drinks and prepping for the party.

Other unBEARably cute party details included the teddy bear face masks that I created by cutting a free printable I found online and then adding a chopstick and washi tape to the back.

They doubled as party decor (each was placed at their table setting) and was also used as a photo prop.

Teddy bears sat nearby to hang out and get fed and bear paw prints lined our front entrance and hallway floors leading everyone towards the PAWty.

I can’t believe summer vacation is already coming to a close. These buddies begin school next Thursday and have collected many fun memories to begin the school year with.  I hope you also enjoyed your summer vacation!

Tell me what you liked most about this bubbly teddy bear tea!

Special thanks to our product sponsor, Gazillion Bubbles and RenBeaniePR for helping us to celebrate the last bit of summer in such a memorable way!  To see these bubbles live in action see my IG story today or click here for a full demo.

How To Host An Ice Cream Social That’ll Have Them Screaming for Joy

Summer means fun in the sun and what screams that more than and ice cream social?  Recently, we hosted a series of ice cream socials with friends from the neighborhood and it turns out, it was a super easy, play date to plan and popular with all the invitees!  Here’s how you too can host a fabulous ice cream social this summer in 4 easy steps cuz hey, I scream, you scream, we ALL scream for ice cream!

  1. ice cream party, ice cream social ideas, ice cream party ideas, kids ice cream partySet up a sprinkle station!  The thing that makes an ice cream social so fun and interactive is getting to choose from a variety of toppings and getting creative with the choices!  Using a 3 tier stand and a cake platter we already owned, I created a lazy Susan setup with sprinkles ranging from: 3 kinds of rainbow sprinkles, to organic, teddy graham crackers, to chocolate chips, nerds and gummy bears.  For added Instagram-able fun, make sure to add in topping choices that add a little height to your final creation (think Japanese Pocky sticks, cake pops, suckers, or long cookies).  ice cream party, ice cream social ideas, ice cream party ideas, kids ice cream party
  2. With this sprinkle station, we had 5 quarts of different flavored ice cream to choose from..thus the need to keep hosting ice cream socials in order to free up space in our freezer!  But a simple Neopolitan ice cream quart would do!

tip. to create these fun ice cream cups, simply frost the rim of your glass, add sprinkles and set in fridge before party!

  1. Create a craft!  Kids of all ages love to get artsy.  What better way to tie in the theme than to prepare a simple, fun ice cream craft for them to take home as a memento of the event?  For our get-togethers, I pre-cut cones and ice cream scoops from pretty patterned paper and prepared glue sticks, glitter sticks, washi tape, gem stickers, pom pom balls and all sorts of sprinkle-like toppings for the kids to pick, glue, and mix/match with.  ice cream party, ice cream social ideas, ice cream party ideas, kids ice cream partyBut you could easily download free printables of ice cream cones for kids of all ages to color in too.
  2. Decorate! Create a festive atmosphere by simply using whatever leftover party decor you already have!  The great thing about ice cream socials is that it can be interpreted with any color theme.  So bring out those colorful napkins, paper plates, lanterns and banners and give them new life again!  We used this as an excuse to re-use our Oh Joy for Target party decor and bought a couple new items from Target to coordinate, just to freshen up the space and make it feel festive.  A trip down Target’s dollar bin aisle will always inspire!  Juliet of course, insisted on helping me decorate and was the perfect little party planner!ice cream, ice cream toys, ice cream decor, ice cream social
  3. Toys for Tots!  Gift the adults a break by preparing fun, themed toys to attract the little ones allowing the adults to mingle!  We pulled out our gifted Melissa & Doug ice cream cone set, and Duplo ice cream legos, then let the kids set up their own shop with fake money in Juliet’s play house.  And we also had our Our Generation ice cream truck with all its miniature ice cream treats nearby for kids to explore and play pretend with.

Hopefully this post, inspired you to get social like we did this summer!
