Easter Bunny and Parade in NYC 2010
Easter (2010) in NYC was unseasonably warm and beautiful. Case in point, last Easter in NY, I wore a winter coat and gloves to see the Easter parade. This year, I got to wear this springy outfit below.
strapless dress – Shoshanna (bought at sample sale), ruffled cream cardigan – Express (bought on sale), suede baby pink stilettos – Sebastian (bought at Barney’s sample sale), skull tote – Storets.com
One of my favorite Easter traditions in NY is to see the Easter bunny ice skate at Rockefeller Center and then to see the mad-hatters parade down 5th Ave. This year did not disappoint. Here’s all the colorful eye candy for those of you missed the fashions on 5th!
The man on the left actually owns his own millinery called Vanity Society (based in NYC)!
Dont’ these lovely ladies (I’m including the dog here) look elegant?
for more on vintage inspirations see my earlier entry 1 and 2
These women must have some serious superpowers being able to get their men to dress up with them
the 3 ladies on the left creatively made hats out of body exfoliators!
two very different takes on the top hat
The lady on the left is a Bergdorf Goodman saleswoman who is famous for winning the Easter hat contest
If you had to award a winner this year, who would you choose? And is anyone else inspired to get a little more creative next Easter?
wow..you should be a desinger or fashion repoter.
Ooh this coming from miss fashion herself is a real compliment!
Wish I could have been there to view all the gaily dressed people in person!
Wow, thanks for including a photograph of me (black dress/white hat).
It was so lovely seeing everyone dressed up – although I definitely missed a few of these!
Hey, let’s create our own Easter hats next year!
I’ve been wanting to do this but didn’t know anyone who was interested. I’m IN!
Hey – this is the lady in the gold flowerpot costume. Thank you for featuring my picture in your blog. It was a great day and my BF only complained a little about the hat I made him wear 🙂
Yay! I’m glad you saw the post. You guys totally impressed me with the hats. And I’m inspired to create one myself for next year. Maybe I’ll see you out there in 2011! Thanks for stopping by!
