Back To School with MomTrends and NYC Bloggers

back to school fashion, toddler style, toddler fashion

August for moms means back-to-school season.  And that for us means shopping season!  Making sure we are fully prepared for the non-stop needs of school season,  MomTrends, recently invited me and other NYC mommy bloggers to join them in discussing trends of the season as well as viewing new products from some of the leading family-oriented brands.

It was a great networking event to connect with the brands while being a fun mom’s night out filled with manis, mini-fashion show, and mom-osas.  (Thanks Natalie’s for the juice-infused prosecco!)

Did I mention the fashion?

That’s the best part of back to school season, isn’t it?  Tea Collection was on-site showcasing their latest fall collection, which of course, is all organic.  I can’t wait to show you more of this once we receive our outfit from them!  Make sure to follow me on Instagram for our daily style diary and fashionable adventures.

Snapperrock, a swim-based company that offers UPF 50+ in all their swimwear, had some adorable daddy and me and mommy and me options that really caught my eye.  ‘Cuz you know, how I just love twinning with my little!

#MomtrendsSchool also promoted beauty treatments, which for any busy mom can really feel like a luxury.   I was thrilled to be able to catch up with a mom friend over our complimentary Mani or Pedi.com.

Did you know Mani or Pedi will meet you in the comforts of your own home or office?  That’s a game-changer, right?  And Vamousse, a company known for their lice treatments, sent their glam squad to help make us over.  Thank YOU!

Our back to school education, continued as we made the rounds across the room and discovered Avery who had a fun, colorful collab with Amy Tangerine for rainbow-infused dividers, binders, and planners!

Comedic chef, George Duran represented Jarlsberg and offered tasty twists on the classic grilled cheese sandwich.  I spun the wheel and won a truffle grilled cheese sandwich, which happened to be my favorite.  And I also got inspired to add bacon, apricot jam or tomato to the traditional lunchtime goodie.

I was happy to see Stonyfield there because it’s such a trusted go-to for organic yogurts and smoothies.  And I was thrilled to find they were launching snack packs for hungry kids on the go!  Juliet is now seriously obsessed with their latest creations and asked for these everyday of dance camp! Pretzels packed with yogurt?  Yes please!

Lastly, I loved seeing Mabels Labels because every mom needs to label their kid’s school items.  And these personalized labels for shoes, clothes, water bottles, & lunch boxes are simply the best!  Cute and customizable, they’re waterproof and dishwasher and microwave safe!  Read our full review on them here!

These were my favorite brands found at the event!  I’d love to hear how you are gearing up for this back to school season!  What are YOUR favorite products to help you level up and be that supermom you know you wanna be?

Thank you, MomTrends for this fabulous event!

How I survived my 1st Booty Workout (with Boudreoux Butt Paste and MomTrends Bloggers at Exhale Spa)

IMG_0892

It takes a lot for me to motivate, get to the gym and workout.  I don’t like to sweat.  What can I say… Buuuuut when Mom Trends mentioned I would get compensated to workout at Exhale Spa in the Gansevoort hotel, I was sold.  After all my booty could use a kick in the ass, I figured.  So thanks to our sponsor, Boudreaux’s Butt Paste, I found myself contorting, squatting, crunching, lunging, and yes, sweating.

Not sure what to expect other than to be tired that morning, I gulped down some coffee and arrived early to check out the impending torture chamber, er I mean classroom.  Alas I soon found out that I had nothing to be worried about.  The teacher was super friendly and gave me that extra jolt of energy and support I needed.

By the time the rest of the classroom filled, I felt the full support of all the moms in tow.  It felt fun working out with such a community around me!

Here I am praying I make it through the whole class!

The mixture of different movements was a challenge but actually didn’t leave me drenching in sweat (which is a good thing in my book!)

It was more like a steady tension in all my muscles with the class pushing my boundaries and stretching my comfort zones.  Such simple moves yet so effective.

These planks and ab crunches were the most challenging for me.  Does anyone else post c-section feel like their abs will never be back to shape?  My ab muscles (after being sliced up and sewn back together), just do not work like they used to.  Here I am trying my hardest to hold it together..

The Boudreaux’s Butt Paste press release says it’s “tough on diaper rash, gentle on baby’s booty.”  Well I can tell YOU that this butt paste – inspired booty class was NOT gentle on MINE.  I got an intense workout that I will surely feel for days.  This was maximum strength for sure!

I love this diaper cream and used it a lot during Juliet’s younger days.  The flip top is a smart new feature and I love that it provides the thickest barrier of protection with 40% zinc oxide, free of dyes, parabens, preservatives, phthalates and talc.  Safe and smart, it’s pediatrician (and Fab Gab) recommended!

Post workout ,we enjoyed tasty treats, a mini massage and some fun photo opps.  Oh if only those perks came with every workout perhaps I’d be doing it more…
