Back To School Looks with True Religion

True Religion is one of my favorite denim companies so I was excited when the brand and Stroller In The City invited me in to select a couple pieces for little Juliet to wear!  THANK YOU True Religion for gifting Juliet with these fab pieces! With the back-to-school season just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to style the True Religion pieces for the fall.

This classic True Religion jean is their Casey style (a similar one can be found here).   My 3.5 year old daughter who is 40″ tall is wearing a size 3 here just to give you some sizing reference in case you were interested in buying these.  I love these because they can be dressed up or down and they are rugged enough for the playground!

Juliet loves her lion backpack from the Chicago zoo gift shop and likes to let out a big roar when I take pictures of her with this wild backpack lol.

The next back to school outfit started with a True Religion two toned, raglan tee (arms which are not shown here are a wine color). It is styled under a cream, tweed cardi and over a tutu skirt for a girly, glam look.DSC_9420

Juliet loves anything with a butterfly so this gifted cream and gold glitter tutu from grandma was a hit too!DSC_9419

The fashion is what makes back to school season so exciting for me!  What about you?  What are you most looking forward to this back to school season?

Fab Kids 4th of July Party – Indoor play date

If you believe in celebrating in style, and you look for excuses to throw a good party, having kids won’t stop that party planning perfectionist in you.  At least that’s what I’ve learned.  I’m THAT mom who offers to host a play date and then surprises everyone with a full-out professionally coordinated, themed event. This July 4th have a Fab Fourth!  It’s is an easy time to decorate and really jump into a theme.  After all, everyone has some form of red white and/or blue in their homes and closets! Here is some inspiration for you to host a Fab 4th of July party or play date indoors.

fourth of july decor, kids party

I encourage you to have a Fab Fourth with kids in the comfort of your own home!  Simply stick to a strict color theme of red white and blue, use what you have and ask everyone to dress in theme.  Here, in partnership with Mialandyn Events, we decorated her rental teepees with fringe and taped-on star cutouts.  (Taping on additional decor is such an easy and clever way to temporarily transform a plain teepee to match any holiday or theme!) Next we added some matching fur blankets and patriotic pillows to complete the luxe look.  We also added fun toddler toys and balloons inside which invited kids to explore and play.

Encourage a pretend picnic with gingham red picnic blanket laid out and kid-friendly finger foods like healthy snacks from Fresh Kids, blueberries in a star dish, star-shaped cake pops from Current Mood, sparkly red marshmallows and 3D chocolate covered Oreo cookies from Brooklyn Cake Pops!  Red white and blue napkins, cake platter and star-shaped dishes help carry out the theme.

Ask play date guests (moms and kids alike) to dress head-to-toe in red white and blue and you’ll be surprised how they take to the fashion challenge. Having the kids match REALLY makes for some adorable shots and brings out the momarazzi in all of us!

I had so much fun styling all the kids for this shoot with pieces from their closets and my daughter’s combined.

Take the opportunity to talk to the toddlers about flags, stars and stripes and voila! You’ve had a patriotic play date!
