Style Diary: Blue Blazer

I just bought this blue blazer from Lord & Taylor for about $70 after my coupon rang up.  What do you think?  I was super excited to wear it given I had nothing like it in my closet and it was the perfect topper for tons of my spring/summer dresses.  A fitted blazer always works well for converting casual dresses into more appropriate work wear.  This one had cute roll-up sleeves that featured this preppy stripe.

The dress is Anna Sui, the purse is Red Valentino and the heels are Pour La Victoire.  And the spikey bracelet is just there to help balance off the ruffles and bow.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Don’t forget to enter my goody bag giveaway here!

Fab Fete: Barry Brinker Trunk Show @ Saks

For today’s Barry Brinker Trunk Show, I hired a caterer to serve mimosas and styled a gorgeous fashion model into 7 outfits with matching trunk show pieces. It was so much fun.  Who wouldn’t enjoy dressing such a perfect body? I wish I had her 34-24-34 measurements.  But alas, my waistline keeps growing with each passing year it seems!

The first two outfits were from Elie Tahari’s latest collection.

I just loved these colors with the model’s hair color.

This bright look is made up of Saks Fifth Avenue’s latest beauty bag promotion and a neon yellow outfit from Theory.  The shoes are Jimmy Choos.  I loved that they had a little sparkle.

Isn’t this sunny yellow so bright and fresh on her?

For an entirely different look, I dressed our lovely model, Margarita in a more sophisticated neutral from designer Piazza Sempione, shoes – Prada.

Everyone loved this necklace / ring Barry Brinker combo.

I wouldn’t have picked this outfit for myself but I knew Margarita could rock it.  All these horizontal stripes in candy colors made her super slim body stand out even more.  Here, I paired her casual cotton dress from Splendid with Tory Burch flip flops and a straw hat.  Check out the close-up of the Barry Brinker jade necklace shown below!

The next outfit was for a sexy evening out.  I wanted to make sure to vary the outfits and styles.  It was so much fun given Margarita looked fabulous in everything.  I sort of wore these outfits vicariously through her.  You would need such a perfect figure to pull the below off.  The talented designer, Barry, accessorized this one for me using some long pearls for sort of a 40s feel.

The shoes are the model’s own.  I thought this look had a sexy, vintage feel.

Above, is a dress from Joie, Jimmy Choo sparkly flats and a couple necklaces again from Barry Brinker. I loved the muted orange stripes with her hair.

Which one is your favorite outfit? ?
