NYC street art – where to find the most colorful one-stop collection
If you’re a street art lover like me, read on! This is one must-see spot where you’ll find TONS of amazing NYC street art all in one easy-to-get-to location. Want a one-stop spot for all your instagram content and selfies? This is it. Downtown ‘Mural Project at the Financial District’s 2WTC and 3WTC (where the South Tower stood prior to 9/11) is the place to go in New York.
Make sure to walk the entire Oculus Plaza between Fulton & Vesey Sts and Greenwich & Church Street in order not to miss a thing!
It is the site where the South Tower stood until September 11. And it was purposely made to be a bright, colorful and happy spot to offer hope and a moment of relief quietly countering its tragic history. The World Trade Center memorial and museum are just steps away and many come here afterwards to regain perspective and find peace.
I’m sure it brightens everyone’s mood because it makes us happy every time we pass by! It certainly served as a source of inspiration and joy during our lockdown period. This is me finally leaving the front door during phase 1 of NY’s lockdown. haha
They have such fun art that kids can relate to too! Trust me, if you love NYC street art, visit this place. Kids of all ages will be wow-ed! It’s very relatable art.
Isn’t the scale of all this art just jaw-dropping?
Featuring murals from artists such as Todd Gray, Hektad, BoogieRez, Stickymonger, BoogieRez and husband & wife team Chinon Maria and Sebastian Mitre this one location will give you the best sampling in NY street art.
The large-scale mural project surrounds the stunning Oculus which hovers proudly nearby.
This structure is such a tourist attraction. Can you see why? Don’t forget to go inside for shops, eateries and the most modern subway terminal ever.
Isn’t it amazing?? All angles are so photogenic and it really compliments the modern NYC street art.
You’ll definitely want some pictures with this skeletal and architectural masterpiece while there!
These WTC Murals were organized by Silverstein Properties in partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey who wanted more than a construction site featuring corrugated metal. I’m so thankful for their vision. Don’t you just love the NYC street art that resulted??
I found the below piece especially moving during the Black Lives Matter Movement.
