Fab Decor: Henri Bendel

Henri Bendel is a girly girl’s shopping fantasy come true.  Just its recognizable brown and white stripe logo and shopping bag make my heart pump with joy.  They have the most beautiful collections of: accessories (see their hat collection below), artful makeup displays and in-house branded products ever.  All they need is a fabulous shoe collection to match.

I’m one of those weird shoppers that really gets into the whole experience.  I browse the products, yes but I also take in all the displays, the signs, the graphics, the packaging and window fronts.  I get inspired by it all and am delighted by all the creativity surrounding me.  Bendel’s has some of my favorite displays and graphics.  Thanks to their famed illustrator, Izak Zenou their store’s interior and general branding are both distinctive and fabulous.  Here’s a look into what I saw at Bendel’s this week.

They make Bendel luggage now!

I like this studded red frame!

This lady found the clear totes so fascinating that she wouldn’t move out of the way and I had no patience for her so here’s the beautiful display… and her backside.

Aren’t these the most precious handmade fashion dolls, ever?

These perfume tester papers were so pretty I had to take one of each home!  I think I’ll use them for bookmarks.  How would you use them?

I wish I could have taken more pictures but Bendel’s big security guards kept me from taking as many as I wanted 🙁

More about my favorite fashion illustrators (including Izak) later…

I love the displays at Henri Bendel’s too! I can’t help but take photos of their fun displays as well. Barney’s does a great job too…thanks to Simon Doonan!

I love Izak’s work. My daughter is turning ten and wanted a diva style party and I came across notes cards, bags and writing tablets that looks beautiful and captures the spirit of young woman. I think we are going to add a cat walk into the party. LOL. The perfume testers you showed would also be beautiful to decorate a photo frame or a keep sake box. Thanks for sharing wonderful pictures. Wish I could get some of the large cuts.

      Hi there Sherry!
I recently saw some Izak designed notecards and office / school related products at Target that I think you might like. I saw them in the clearance bin though so look fast before they run out!
Your daughter’s diva party sounds fab 🙂

i can’t wait until i have a daughter, her room is going to be all henri bendel – storage will be henri bendel hat boxes and shopping boxes – i have a ton accumulated in all sizes – and i’m going to frame some shopping bags so that all you see are the bendel stripe.. she’ll have a little henri bendel tea set that i never got around to using! fab fab fab. its sad that this is the only reason i want kids lol.. i’m even going to have one wall pained with the iconic brown stripes. lovely, just lovely. i remember going there with my mom as a kid in the early 2000’s late 90s.. it was so nice, they were so sweet to me while my mom would shop; there was always someone there to hang out with me and let me try on cool hats and jewelry and stuff. i remember once i had a little xmas tree in my room (aside from the big one in the house) and my mom let me buy w/e ornaments i want! needless to say they were all pretty things fron henri bendel. when my mom went holiday shopping there and the shop was crowded, i latched on to the sales lady that would hang out with me and we picked ornaments and little-non ornaments to use too – like jewelry – it was beyond fun, plus i was able to use the jewelry and the hat (which was my tree topper) for dress up fun lol. can’t wait to have a daughter.

and if i have a son, well, brown stripes go great for a boy too lol.

Love your Bendel Girls!!!! Each one has a different personality.

Put an assortment of all of them in a note card box.

We would all buy boxes and boxes of them. Great girlfriend gifts!
