LV Popups Take Over Beverly Hills and Beyond
NEW BEVERLY HILLS LV POPUP
Anyone who knows me (or follows me on Instagram) knows I love a good popup. And if the popup happens to mix in my favorite passion, fashion well then you can most definitely bet that I’ll be there! See here for the Chanel popups we attended in the past as an example! So when I visited Santa Monica and found that Louis Vuitton was celebrating its 160 year anniversary with a worldwide tour of its latest popup in Beverly Hills, I made sure to be get myself there! See below for all the insider pics, details and fun facts!
WHAT IS IT?
It was part museum, part insanely, Instagramable shop. If you’re a LV fan, make sure to make your way up the winding staircase to get to the shoppable section which features new collaborations and exclusives!
ARTSY COLLABS
For example, you’ll find new artist renditions of the famous LV Capucines bag- many of which sold out during pre-sale already. Don’t feel bad if you missed out on getting one.. you just saved yourself $8600 lol. Alex Israel, Urs Fischer, Tschabala Self, Nicholas Hlobo, Jonas Wood and Sam Falls are some of the latest collaborators and the line is called ArtyCapcuines.
Collaborations was the theme of this free, open-to-the-public exhibit entitled, “Louis Vuitton X.” And the 1st floor featured famous collabs with the likes of Karl Lagerfeld (who knew they collaborated??), Stephen Sprouse and our beloved, Yayoi Kusama. It highlighted how the iconic brand led this now more commonplace fashion collab idea and showcased the brand’s love and respect for artists around the world. Sidenote, they started this traveling popup in LA because of the “vibrant art scene.”
The displays were so colorful and vivid and the space so impactful and cool that even my popup-hating husband admitted enjoying his walk through! Kudos to Louis Vuitton for turning my jaded hubby into a fan!
LV PRODUCTS
This room showcased Louis Vuitton’s famous scarves as artwork. Juliet and I enjoyed discussing our favorites and considered them true pieces of art too!
Never leaving the boys out, the collection shows off some stunning printed pieces from the men’s collection as well!
The 1st floor also wow-ed us with grand displays of their celebrity-worn, red-carpet looks. A massive video wall summarized some of the red carpet moments and guests were able to see the gowns up close and personal. How stunning is this??
I FOUND LOUIS VUITTON!
I loved refreshing my memory about the iconic brand’s history, tradition and beginnings and I was surprised to SEE Louis Vuitton’s image (finally!) Did you have any idea what he looked like? Why is it that most of us fashionistas have never been privy to his image? Why is his image not as well-known as say, Coco Chanel and other luxury brand founders? Why after attending now 3 (yes 3) LV popups am I just now finally getting this glimpse of his painted portrait? I peered closely into his face needing to know…
